Government Engineering College Idukki (GECI)

The Government Engineering College Idukki(GECI), is one of the scenic colleges in Idukki is located in the beautiful high range district of Kerala known for its mountainous hills and dense forests. The location of the institute in the idyllic environment makes it perfect for academic pursuit. The education system followed in the Engineering College enables the students to achieve academic success as well as develop interpersonal skills. Each student is assigned to a staff advisor from the concerned department who guides the students in curricular and extracurricular activities during the period of study in the college. The college has a very active student’s union whose principal objective is to develop leadership qualities, integrity and inculcate the spirit of service among the students. The members are responsible for organising sports, arts, cultural and edutainment events.

The college has a very active career guidance cell that frequently organizes various soft skill development programes and workshops to motivate students to perform better. The placement cell aims at providing placement opportunities for the students. A counselling cell has also been set up to help and guide the students. The college has well-equipped lab and a well-stocked library with subscription to national and international journals and periodicals.
